Log Files

When an SD card is inserted and the CAN Debugger tool is not under PC control, the tool automatically creates and stores CAN log files on the SD card. Log files are saved in PCAP format and can be analysed using tools such as Wireshark.

While the tool is actively logging, the SD status icon remains blue, as shown in the image below.

The tool generates log files in folders with ascending numbered file names where higher numbers indicate more recent logs. Each log file is limited to a maximum size of 4GB. To view log files, either connect the tool via USB and copy files directly from the device storage, or remove the SD card and access it from a PC.

SD Card Restrictions

Use only SD cards formatted with the FAT32 filesystem. The device supports a maximum SD card size of 32GB. Correctly format the SD card using a tool such as SD Memory Card Formatter.
