Decode (DBC)

The Decode screen decodes CAN frames using DBC files. The CAN Bus Debugger supports a partial implementation of the DBC specification. The tool does not currently support multiplexing, metadata, and enums (value tables).

Loading DBC Files​

Add DBC files to a folder named "DBC" in the root of the tool's SD card using one of the following methods:

  • USB Connection: Connect the CAN Bus Debugger to your computer and copy the files to the DBC folder
  • SD Card Access: Remove the SD card from the tool, connect it to your PC, add the files to the DBC folder, and reinsert the card

Restart the CAN Bus Debugger after adding new files. The tool loads only valid DBC files.

Using DBC Files​

  1. Access the Decode screen from the main menu
  2. Use the up and down buttons to select the desired DBC file
  3. Press the ✔ button to load the DBC file
  4. View decoded data when the CAN peripheral is enabled
  5. Scroll through decoded signals by selecting the list and using the up and down buttons
